Cocoa beans
The cocoa tree is an amazing tree that produces small, delicate flowers. These flowers give rise to oval-shaped fruits called “pods”. Inside these pods are the precious cocoa beans, coated in a sweet pulp. Harvesting cocoa beans is an art in itself, requiring great expertise to preserve their quality.
The Transformation Process
Once harvested, cocoa beans undergo a complex transformation process to become what we all know and love, chocolate. They are fermented, dried, roasted and finally ground to obtain the precious cocoa paste. This paste can then be transformed into a variety of chocolate products, from intense dark chocolate to creamy milk chocolate.
